19,842 fans crammed into Varsity Stadium to see Guelph upend Mount Allison 22-13 for the national title.
Gryphon receiver Parri Ceci, the Ted Morris Trophy recipient, scored two TDs on Randy Walters passes, one of them good for 89 yards.
Guelph trailed the Mounties 13-7 until midway through the fourth quarter when Ceci scored his second touchdown of the game on a 38-yard pass-and-run play.
Mount Allison's Scott Cameron intercepted two passes, returning one for a touchdown.
