The Alberta Pandas kept their season alive with a commanding 3-0 win over the STFX X-Women in the first consolation game of the 2025 Miller Waste U SPORTS Women's Hockey Championship on Saturday.
Jadynn Morden opened the scoring late in the first period, burying a pass from Payton Laumbach at 19:20 to give Alberta (32-7-1) a lead they would not relinquish. Hayleigh Craig doubled the advantage at 16:32 of the second, finishing a setup from Abbey Bourdeaud'hui. The Pandas sealed the victory in the third when Izzy Lajoie converted on the power play at 7:20, with assists from Sara Kazeil and Natalie Kieser.
Goaltender Misty Rey was flawless for Alberta, turning aside all 36 shots she faced for the shutout. The X-Women (25-11-5) outshot Alberta 36-22 but could not find a way past Rey. Brooklyn Oakes made 19 saves in a losing effort.
With the win, Alberta advances to Sunday's consolation final against either UBC or UNB, while the X-Women's season comes to an end.
