Toronto 10, Carleton 0 Final
OTTAWA - The Varsity Blues field hockey team handily defeated the Carleton Ravens 10-0 on Sunday, September 26 in Ottawa.
"We played really well building the attack with great passing," said Varsity Blues head coach John DeSouza. "The difference today was that we finished in the offensive circle as our goal scorers found their touch."
North Vancouver, B.C., natives Alex Thicke and Kelley Lusk as well as Alexandra Evanshyn of Burlington, Ont., and Natalie Provenzano (Richmond Hill, Ont.) each tallied two goals, while Katherine McDonald and Siobhan Gordon added one apiece in the victory.
The Varsity Blues return to action next weekend as they head to Guelph to take on the OUA defending champion Gryphons at 9:30 a.m. The Blues also square off against the McGill Martlets later in the day at 1 p.m.

VICTORIA – The UVic women’s field
hockey team ended the UBC Thunderbirds
13-match win streak by outlasting the visitors 3-2 Sunday.
Vikes’ CIS All-Canadian, Perri Espeseth scored a pair in the first half in the 12th and 32nd minute against the reigning CIS champs Sunday morning.
Sunday’s match-up was the first time UVic beat UBC dating back to November 2008.
The Vikes (3-0-1), which sit atop the Canada West standings,
travel to Calgary for next games october 2-3, both at 1 p.m.
Mountain Time. The 2-1-1 Thunderbirds host Alberta for a pair of
contests on the same two days.

EDMONTON - Another day, another 2-0 loss for the
University of Alberta Pandas at the hands of the University of
Calgary Dinos, who swept the weekend series after their win on
Sunday afternoon at Foote Field in Edmonton.
Alberta's four straight losses to open the season has them sitting last in the conference, giving them a tough hill to climb with a third of the season already gone. The 2-2 Dinos, however, are only one point behind the 2-1-1 UBC Thunderbirds, which sit in second place in the Canada West conference standings.
The Pandas spend next weekend on the road to visit the UBC
Thunderbirds in a two-game weekend series while the Dinos will
return home to host the Victoria Vikes
