U SPORTS names Team Canada roster for 2026 FISU World University Cheer Championship
U SPORTS, in conjunction with Cheer Canada, has announced the Team Canada roster for the 2026 FISU World University Cheerleading Championships, set for June 5-7 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The squad consists of athletes from the universities of Alberta and British Columbia. The Alberta team will compete in the All-Female Elite category, while UBC will be in the Coed Premier Category.
Canada is the defending goal medallist in the All-Female Elite category, with the team from Alberta having won the title at the 2024 event in Split, Croatia. Four athletes (Avani Lonkar, Abby Muddle, Cate Ramos and Jasmine Switzer) are returning from that squad.
This will be Canada’s first foray into the Coed Premier category.
Canada’s first performance in the All-Female Elite category is set for 9:45 a.m. Eastern Time (7:45 a.m. Mountain) on Friday, while the Coed Premier squad will first hit the floor at 11:20 a.m. Eastern (8:20 a.m. Pacific time). The competition continues through Sunday, June 7.
